Sorry for the delay NSJ Family. But I'm back!
I know it's been a while & you've been waiting. A few people have asked and I honestly feel bad for neglecting my baby (blog) like this. Shout-out to y'all for holding me accountable, too.
I've been super busy working full-time, studying real-estate, traveling, and being a super-mom. But no more excuses. I will try to do better in the future. If you're still here with me, I sincerely thank you.
So without further ado, let's get into this blog today!
I've titled this post "New Beginnings" because this is the time of year when a lot of people are experiencing drastic changes in their lives and although it may be overwhelming, it's important to sit back and embrace it all. There's people who are off to college for the first time, starting new careers, reaching milestones in their current educational pursuits/careers, planning weddings, getting back on the dating scene, moving to new states, and the list goes on. I want to say I am proud of you and you should be proud too! I decided to do something different with this blog and share the following poem I wrote and titled, of course, New Beginnings. I hope you enjoy!
The most beautiful thing about life
Is you can reinvent yourself at any time
As many times as you like
Think of it as a book
And you are the author
Before it gets published & as you get older
Don't forget all the lessons it took
To grow stronger & smarter
Stay true to yourself
Because your life belongs to you & no one else
There's a quote that reads:
"If you live by the cheers, you'll die by the boos"
Remember this as you walk the path that you choose
Answered prayers don't come when you want
They come when you're ready
Keep a leveled head
Stand firm & hold steady
It's true what they say:
Comparison is the thief of joy
And what doesn't kill you can only make you stronger
No need to compare your journey to others
When your roads may be tougher
And it may take you a little longer
Remember, stay true to yourself
Don't be easily influenced or swayed
Don't forget your morals & your values
Don't feel defeated when plans get delayed
Be realistic when setting goals
Yes, time is of the essence
But essentially, you are the one that's in control
Forgive yourself for the mistakes that you will make
Not too many get it right the first time
That's why there's so many chances for you to take
You will outgrow things and people
Please know that's perfectly okay
Don't dwell on the 'what ifs' & wondering why things happen that way
There will be times when the weight of life gets heavy
No matter what, do not give up
Keep a leveled head
Stand firm & hold steady
When you feel like you're doing all that you can
But you want more & you're not happy
And you just can't seem to get it right
No matter how hard you fight
Remember that beautiful thing I told you about life
You can reinvent yourself at any time
As many times as you like
"When one door closes, another opens; but we often look so long and so regretfully upon the closed door that we do not see the one that has opened for us."
~ Alexander Graham Bell
